Brian Waters

Brian is General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer for Evoke. In this dual role, he is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of the firm’s compliance program as well as oversight of all legal matters.

Prior to joining Evoke, Brian was General Counsel of Luma, Inc. and previously served as Chief Legal Officer for Newegg Commerce Inc. (Nasdaq; NEGG) and Senior Vice President & Chief Compliance Officer for The TCW Group, a $210 billion AUM global asset management firm.  Earlier in his career, Brian was Managing Partner, General Counsel & Chief Legal Officer of Logica Capital Advisors and General Counsel & Chief Legal Officer for Himelsein Mandel Fund Management.

Brian is a licensed attorney and is admitted to practice law in California, Oregon and Washington.  He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Indiana University, Bloomington, Juris Doctor from Whittier Law School, and Master of Laws, Taxation (LL.M.) from the University of Washington, School of Law.  He resides in Pacific Palisades, California, with his wife and three children.
